Kids statements are about everyday adventures, like making a snow angel, losing a tooth at school or falling asleep on a car trip. They are perfect for family game night, birthday parties and classrooms.
Friends statements are funny, relatable moments, such as waving back at someone who was waving at someone else or looking for your phone while it was in your hand. They make great icebreakers for teens and adults.
Travel & Food statements cover trips, tastes and new experiences, like missing a flight, eating food so spicy it made you cry or seeing the northern lights. They are a fun way to swap stories with friends or get to know new colleagues.
Why This Game Is Great for Getting to Know People
Every time a finger goes down, there is a story behind it. Players learn surprising things about each other without anyone being put on the spot, because a statement is about an experience, not a judgement. The game also works for any group size, needs no cards or equipment, and a round can last five minutes or an hour.
House Rules for a Fun, Friendly Game
- Be honest, but keep it light. The game is about funny memories, not secrets.
- Nobody has to explain. Players can share the story behind a finger, but they never have to.
- Keep your own statements kind. Avoid anything that could embarrass or single out one person in the group.
- Take turns reading so everyone gets a go, and let younger players read the Kids statements.
Ways to Play
- Classic: 10 fingers each, last player with fingers up wins.
- Quick round: set 3 fingers in Settings for a game that ends in a few minutes.
- Story time: after each statement, one player who put a finger down tells the story.
- Classroom version: students stand up instead of putting a finger down, then sit for the next statement.
- Video call: share your screen, and players show their fingers to the camera.
Writing Your Own Statements
Open Settings and type one statement per line. You only need the end of the sentence, such as “been to a music festival”, and the game adds “Never have I ever” for you. If you paste full sentences, the game removes the extra words and the full stop automatically. Good statements are things some people have done and others have not, so the fingers go down at different times.
