Giveaway Winner Picker

Pick a fair giveaway winner from your Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or YouTube comments in seconds. Copy the comments from your post, paste them in, and the tool finds every @username for you, removes duplicates and leaves out your own account. Choose how many winners and backup winners you need, and get a result summary with the date and time that you can share with your followers. Everything runs in your browser, so your entries are never uploaded.

How to Pick a Giveaway Winner

  1. Open your giveaway post and copy the comments. On a computer you can select the whole comment section and copy it in one go.
  2. Paste everything into the box. With “Find @usernames” ticked, the tool keeps the username of each person who commented and skips lines such as dates and Reply buttons.
  3. Decide the rules: keep “One entry per person” ticked so everyone has the same chance, or untick it if your rules say every comment is an extra entry.
  4. Add your own account and any staff or test accounts under Exclude names.
  5. Set the number of winners and backup winners, then tap Pick Winners.
  6. Copy the result summary and post it in your stories or comments so everyone can see the draw was fair.

Giveaway Winner Picker Features

  • Works with pasted comments from any platform. The first @username on each line is treated as the person who entered.
  • Tagged friends are not counted twice: if someone tags friends in a comment, only the commenter gets the entry.
  • One entry per person by default, or extra chances for extra comments if your rules allow it.
  • Exclude list for your own brand account, team members and test entries.
  • Up to 20 winners and 10 backup winners, never the same person twice.
  • Result summary with the date, time, number of entries and number of people.
  • Plain list mode: untick the @username option to draw from a list of names, emails or ticket numbers.

Why Backup Winners Matter

Not every winner replies. Some never see the message, some have private accounts and some do not meet the rules. Picking backup winners in the same draw saves you from running the giveaway again. Say in your rules how long a winner has to reply, for example 48 hours. If they miss the deadline, contact backup winner 1, then backup winner 2, in the order the tool shows.

How the Draw Stays Fair

Each winner is chosen with the secure random number generator built into your browser. After someone is picked, all of their entries are removed before the next pick, so one person can never win two places. When “One entry per person” is on, every person has exactly the same chance. When it is off, a person with three comments has three times the chance of a person with one comment, which only makes sense if your giveaway rules say so.

Tips for Running a Good Giveaway

  • Write clear rules before you start: how to enter, the closing date and time, who can enter and how the winner will be contacted.
  • Follow the platform’s promotion rules. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube each have their own guidelines for contests and giveaways, so check them before you post.
  • Close entries before the draw and copy the comments only after the closing time.
  • Share the result summary so followers can see when the draw happened and how many people entered.
  • Contact winners publicly and privately, and warn followers about fake accounts that copy your name to send “you won” messages.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I use this for Instagram giveaways?
Yes. Copy the comments from your post, paste them in and keep “Find @usernames” ticked. The same works for Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X and any other site where comments show a username.
  2. What if a person tags friends in their comment?
Only the first @username on each line is used, which is the person who wrote the comment. Tagged friends are not entered unless they comment themselves.
  3. Does a person with more comments get more chances?
Only if you untick “One entry per person”. By default, each person has one entry no matter how many times they commented.
  4. How do I leave out my own account?
Add your username under Exclude names. You can add team members and test accounts there too.
  5. Is my list of entries uploaded anywhere?
No. The draw happens in your browser and the entries are not sent to any server. Only your settings and exclude list are remembered on this device.
  6. How is this different from the Random Name Picker?
The Random Name Picker is made for simple lists of names. The Giveaway Winner Picker reads pasted comments, finds usernames, removes your own account and adds backup winners and a shareable result summary.
  7. Is it free?
Yes. There is no download, no account, no login to your social media and no cost.
