Decision Maker

Can’t choose? Type your options into our free decision maker, spin the wheel and let it pick one for you. Add up to 30 choices, from dinner ideas and movie genres to chores, game turns or places to visit. Turn on Elimination mode to knock options out one by one until a single winner is left. Your list is remembered on your device, so it is ready the next time you visit.

How to Use the Decision Maker

  1. Type what you are deciding in the top box if you like, such as “Where should we eat tonight?”
  2. Enter your options, one per line or separated by commas. You can also tap a ready-made list: Food, Movie, Weekend or Who pays.
  3. Tap Spin to Decide, or tap the wheel itself.
  4. Wait for the wheel to slow down. The option under the pointer at the top is your answer.
  5. Spin again for a new pick, or use Copy result and Share to send it to your friends.

Features of This Decision Maker Wheel

  • Up to 30 options, each with its own equal, colored slice.
  • Quick lists: Food, Movie, Weekend and Who pays fill the wheel in one tap.
  • Elimination mode: every spin removes the option it lands on, and the last one left wins.
  • Restore all options brings back everything you removed so you can play again.
  • Shuffle and Clear buttons to reorder your list or start fresh.
  • Duplicate check: an option typed twice appears only once, so nothing gets a bigger slice by accident.

Normal Mode or Elimination Mode?

In normal mode, each spin picks one option and leaves your list as it is. That is the quickest way to settle a simple question, like what to cook tonight or which game to play first.

Elimination mode turns the wheel into a small knockout game. Every spin removes the option the pointer lands on, and the wheel redraws with fewer slices. When only one option is left, it is announced as the winner. It takes a few more spins, which builds suspense and works well when a group is watching, for example when the whole family is choosing a holiday spot. When you are done, tap Restore all options to put every choice back on the wheel.

Ideas for Your Wheel

  • Food: pizza, burgers, biryani, sushi or a place you have never tried.
  • Weekend plans: a hike, a movie night, visiting friends or a lazy day at home.
  • Chores: who washes the dishes, takes out the trash or walks the dog.
  • Game night: which board game to play, or which player goes first.
  • Study and work: the order to tackle subjects or tasks on a busy day.
  • Classroom: which topic to review, or which group presents first.
  • Date night: the restaurant, the activity or the movie genre.

A Simple Trick When You Really Cannot Decide

Spin the wheel and notice how you feel the moment it stops. If you feel relieved, go with it. If you feel a little disappointed and secretly hoped for a different option, that tells you what you really wanted. Either way, you now know your answer. Many people use the same trick with a coin toss, and it works just as well when you have more than two choices.

How the Wheel Picks an Option

Every option gets an equal slice of the wheel, so each one has the same chance of winning. The result is chosen with the secure random number generator built into your browser, and the wheel then turns to that slice. With five options, each one has a one in five chance on every spin. Earlier results have no effect on the next one, so the same option can win twice in a row.

If you type the same option twice, the tool keeps only one copy, even if the capital letters are different. That keeps the slices fair. To give one choice a bigger chance on purpose, add a slightly different version of it, such as “Pizza” and “Pizza again”.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How many options can I add?
Up to 30, and each option can be up to 40 characters long. Long names are shortened on the wheel but shown in full in the result.
  2. Can I paste a list from somewhere else?
Yes. Paste a list with one option per line, or a single line with the options separated by commas. Both work.
  3. Does the decision maker remember my options?
Yes. Your list, your settings and your last 10 decisions are kept in your browser on this device only. Nothing is uploaded. Use Clear to empty the list and Clear history to remove past results.
  4. Why won’t the wheel spin?
The wheel needs at least two options. Add another choice and try again.
  5. Can I remove an option after it is picked?
Yes. Open Settings and turn on Elimination mode. Each spin will then remove the option it lands on until only one is left.
  6. Is this decision maker free?
Yes. Spin as often as you want. There is no payment, no account and no download.
  7. Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The wheel resizes to fit your screen, and you can tap the wheel itself to spin it.
  8. Should I let a wheel make important decisions?
No. It is a fun way to settle small choices. For decisions about your health, money, studies or relationships, take your time or talk to someone you trust.
